Pattern detection and description method

Bottom-up manual detection of patterns in conceptually annotated corpora

1. Choose a conceptual relation (subslot), e.g. + avoir (Les caractéristiques extérieures)
2. Select all corpus paragraphs that have been annotated with this relation:
• for the whole corpus and/or
• for selected concept frames (subframes of selected top-level frames)
3. Re-interpret the choice of relation and related concepts that was performed by the annotator at a conceptual level
• Lexical or syntactic description of patterns; indicate position of frame and filler noun phrases, e.g. (French):
• [FRAME-NP] à [FILLER-NP]
  maisons à plan quadrangulaire (~"houses with rectangular surface")
• [FRAME-NP]_Arg0 [prendre] [FILLER-NP]_Arg1
