5. Conclusions

The CONCORD system is used now for generating the concordance of the poetical work of B. Fundoianu, which is in an advanced stage of elaboration.

We are currently working for an extension of the system with more interactive functions:

• the possibility of visualising variable-dimension contexts; at present, a context is strictly the verse in which the word appears, and in the printable form of the concordance this is the only context that can be specified; in the electronic form of the concordance, the user may consult the contexts of a given lemma and each context may be displayed showing more verses - above and below the verse in which the word actually appears;
• the possibility to specify various filters on the lemmas and on their attributes;
• the possibility to make various queries on the lemmas, their categories, attributes and contexts.

6. Details on the software systems and the staff that developed them

The two software systems developed at the Centre of Text Analysis are SILEX and CONCORD. They use each other's functions and are jointly developed. CONCORD uses the lexical analysis function SILEX and provides SILEX with a list of unknown words found during the lemmatization of the texts. In this way, the dictionary of SILEX may be enriched.

Both SILEX and CONCORD are implemented using FoxPro 2.6, on a compatible IBM PC.

SILEX - a lexico-morphologic system for Romanian language - has been developed by Teodor Vuscan and Sanda Cherata, of the Centre of Text Analysis. The contextual lexical analysis is implemented by Teodor Vuscan. The SILEX dictionary is designed and maintained by Teodor Vuscan. The linguistic competence of both software (SILEX and CONCORD) is provided by Emma Tamâianu.

The project manager of the CONCORD system is Marian Papahagi. The software is developed by Sanda Cherata and the interactive lemmatization of the texts was assured by Marian Papahagi and Sanda Cherata. The linguistic validation of the results of the lemmatization is done by Marian Papahagi and Emma Tamâianu.
